I have just recently taken your Wellbriety for Prisons Training in Alberta with Cyndi Alexander. I think this is a great way to help the offenders in the system, it gives them a sense of hope. I work with corrections myself in Edmonton, AB, Canada at the Stan Daniels Healing Centre and I think this would help the guys over here in Canada gain sobriety with the Native Culture aspect. Cyndi and Felisha Bear-Heart are very lovely ladies. I am so greatful and honoured to be 1 of the first 7 people in Canada to receive this training. It will help us in our road to recovery and as well as the prisoners in the system. As a Native Healing Centre in Canada this training will work greatly with our offenders. SDHC is the only half-way house in Canada that houses Federal Inmates as well as Conditionally Released Offenders focusing on the Native way of healing. Once again I thank you and your wonderful staff for everything.
I have been instrumental in bring the Wellbriety Program to Federal Corrections here in Canada and in March of 2009 we had Cyndi and Felisha offer training in the program here at Pe Sakastew Healing Centre in Hobbema, Alberta Canada. Beginning this March 8th, 2010 we will be offering our second such training with Mr Marlin Farley doing the facilitating. He will also offer the Fathers of Tradition Training, we are expecting a wide array of participants from both the local reserve communities(4 Bands), Corrections Canada and other civilian agencies. It is our dream to take this wonderful program to the next level here in Canada by working with the outside agencies to establish Warrior Down Facilities. So I say Nia:weh(Thank You) to Mr wood for having given me the opportunity to be apart of this journey. I have been a friend of Bill W for a lot of 24 hrs.(33 yrs)and to me this (Wellbriety) is the epitome of that program. Once again I look forward to carrying the message of this great Program.
